
Mark Lloyd presented "Recently Found Relatives in England". This past May Mark visited a newly discovered relative in Southport, Lancashire, England and was able to gain insight and information from this family about their common Lloyd ancestors. |

Bill Arthurs presented "Over the Brick Wall to Bannockburn 1314". Using his Y-DNA results, Bill described how the brick wall with his Arthurs family has been broken and how his paternal ancestry is connected to the line of Walter fitz Gilbert de Hambledon, who fought on the side of Robert The Bruce at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. |

Mary Anne Sharpe presented "In My Father's Footsteps on the Western Front". This was an introduction to Mary Anne's trip to Vimy. Her father was involved in the battle there in 1917 and was awarded a Military Cross. Mary Anne will present more details of her father's WWI experiences at our November meeting. |

Robert Watt presented "Stop, Look, Linger". This was a continuation of an earlier presentation about a missed inscription in an old cemetery. Luckily he was able to revisit this cemetery and found more information about his family. |

Alison Hare received the award for Best Presentation, "John Green: Whose Father Was He?" made at the April 2007 BIFHSGO meeting and voted best talk by a member during the past year. |

Bert Hayward received a Certificate of Excellence. In recognition of outstanding contributions to the work of the Society as Society Photographer from 2003 to 2007 |

Irene Ip received a Certificate of Excellence. In recognition of outstanding contributions to the work of the Society as Editor, Anglo-CelticRoots from 2003 to 2006 during which time it was twice awarded first place in the prestigious NGS Newsletter Competition |

Chris MacPhail, editor of Anglo-Celtic Roots, received a copy of the first place award for ACR in the National Genealogical Society's newsletter competition.
